Rosa works in a pretty mansion where lives her cousin. The only reason she’s allowed in even though she comes from a poor family is because she works as a slave. She may not know how to write or interact much, but she knows how to follow orders and she knows how to get around in the streets. The day the one she calls ‘Life’ wants to become her friend, things start to get really complicated.

Rosaria Brooks – She originally works as a slave for Life’s brother and seems to be having some sort of crush on Life. She has a hard time keeping up with everything going on around her and she feels she’s losing her grasp on reality.
Life (James Wilkes) – A noble living in the mansion where Rosa works. His right ear is white, a rare colour, and as such a lot of people think of him as hope. He’s always busy studying. Rosa calls him ‘Life’.
Arthur Wilkes – Life’s brother, and Rosa’s cruel and cold master. He has a liking for torture and strange experiments, and no one really knows what he’s doing. He is feared by many servants and slaves.
Charlotte – A strange girl that came from a world on the verge of destruction. It is still unclear how she came here, and because of her white ears she is often mistaken for royalty. She is very fond of Rosa.
Mage – Charlotte’s dear childhood friend who was, according to her, an important member of the royal family in their world of origin.
Alexander Cavendish – A mysterious man working for the Queen, though he does seem to be leading his own investigation on the side. He seems quite interested in a particular event.
Georges Wilkes – The master of the mansion, and Life’s father. He seems to be obsessed with the Queen and is ready to do anything to catch her attention; or Alexander’s, for that matter.
Martha Evans - The woman working at the village’s bakery. She’s strict and severe, but really has a heart of gold. She likes to think of Charlotte as her own daughter.
Beatrice Campbell – A former slave that gets promoted to head servant. She works for Life’s father and is very serious about her responsibilities. Her attitude sometimes gets confused with cold-heartedness.
Alicia Desrochers – The cook working under Life’s Uncle’s orders at the mansion. She’s very lively and proud of her French roots, and has a tendency of talking too much.
Greg Sinclair – One of the delinquents who enjoys causing trouble in the Meadow area, in the poor area of town. He and his two followers enjoy causing trouble for Rosa, often injuring her.
Benjamin Murphy – One of Greg’s followers. His parents tried to raise him as a good knowledgeable man, but he rebelled against it. He’s pretty good at sneaking up some information.
Thomas Grant – One of Greg’s followers. There are two things he enjoys in life; eating and harassing people. He’s the kind to laugh if his leader fails at something, even though he wouldn’t be any better.
Laurel Cavendish – Alexander’s wife and Life’s sister. She is a harsh woman and can’t stand still; she needs to keep herself busy at all times, and is usually doing many things at once. She was very close to Arthur when they were growing up.
Jacques Desrochers – Alicia’s father. He has taken Martha under his wing during the time of her studies. He’s a strict and caring father and cared for her like his own daughter.
John Evans – Martha’s husband, who has died a few years before she met Charlotte. They loved each other dearly and losing him left a great impact on her.
Mary Evans – Martha’s daughter, who died at the same time as her father. She was a lovely young girl, showing all the signs of a promising future. She was a lot like Charlotte.
Mary Ann Sinclair – Greg’s youngest sister. She can sew pretty good despite her young age and has a tendency to cry to their mother whenever something that doesn’t fancy her happens.
Louisa Sinclair – Greg’s elder sister. She’s got a head on her shoulders and knows how to deal with reality. She’s the one who takes care of the family’s money now that their father is gone. She is pretty irritated with their brother’s attitude.
Hannah Sinclair – Greg’s younger sister. She takes care of the food and cleaning with their mother and is usually calm and loving. She sometimes wishes that their brother would stay around more often.
Nichols Powell – A son of the family that stole the Sinclair’s glory. He is a spoiled brat and bribes everyone with money; he too has his street gang, but chances are he wouldn’t have any followers otherwise.
Davis Mackintosh – Alexander and Laurel’s butler. He is a professional and has done his job for many years. He’s very serious about it and is very good at what he does. He’s married to Kassidy.
Kassidy Mackintosh – Alexander and Laurel’s maid. She’s a cleaning maniac, which is a good thing considering her masters like their place clean. Usually deals with things with a serious expression, but has a soft spot for those who work hard.
Maxwell Sheppard – An old man working at a shop selling mirrors. Over the years, madness seems to have overtaken his mind and he has a few issues remembering things.

Split Verdeel – She’s suspected of being a mysterious murderer on the loose in a city close by. She’s like a child caught in an adult’s body; she might look innocent, but she’s also merciless if following an order.
Mallory Hurst - Split’s travelling companion. He has unusually bright red hair and takes good care of his friend, and has a very mature and serious attitude.
Richard Perks - A butler of sorts at the Wilkes’ household. He seems to be having some sort of obsession over the front door, always wanting it to be clean and be the one to open it. It’s kind of… weird.
Jake Caldwell - A strange man who calls the operator every week to simply have a pleasant chat with her. He’s trying to make a living in London as an artist, but he has a pretty bad reputation and has troubles selling.
